16:33hrs The team were contacted by North Yokshire Police and asked to assist with the location and rescue of a couple and thier dog who had become stuck in snow and ice somewhere between Hawes and Reeth. They had lost signal but had reported last position going throught Askrigg. Two possible routes were identified (Oxnop and Whitaside) Team vehicvles with additional local team members in 4×4 vehicles were able to sweep both routes. During the intial sweep, access on the hill was hampered by vehicles that had become stuck and were blocking the road, these were being supported by NYP.
The couple were located safe and well, if a little shaken in thier vehicle, this was secured and they were evacuated off the hill, and depositied in Reeth.
