The team were transferred a call from Cave rescue Organisation, who had received a call from the North Yorkshire Police Control room asking for assistance with the rescue of a couple from a vehicle stranded on an icy road above Hawes. The exact location was not known due to the poor signal coverage. Local team members in 4×4 made their way to the area, while both the teams land rovers deployed from the base. The couple where quickly located and assessed by team members. The team were able to turn the vehicle around and escort of the hill. This was one of the first shouts involving an electric vehicle. The couple had run the heater to keep warm while awaiting assistance and this had put a drain on the battery, which required additional charging in Hawes.
